Dear
Parents / Caregivers
Touch rugby begins week 2 of Term 4 (Friday 26th
October) and will be played at Hutt
Park between the times of 4:00pm and 6:20pm. The format of the competition will
run for 6 weeks. This term Total Touch has a new Total Touch Officer and they
have adapted and upgraded their systems so that the touch competition is
greatly improved and more structured.
The competitions are professionally run by
Total Touch who provide referees and organise the draw. The referees control
the game and may offer advice to new players.
The subs for Term
4 are $20 per player. Enclose with the permission slip below by Friday
14th September to ensure your child is included in a team. Late
requests or slips will only be considered if there is availability in a
registered team.
Parents can help
in the following ways:
- Coaching – We will need parents to
coach some teams. We will have coaching sessions at lunchtimes or after
school, but having a parent who is in charge of coaching the team during
the week, or on Friday before and during the game is also very useful.
- Friday Supervision – For teams without parent
coaches, parents will be required to supervise teams on Friday afternoons.
This is not a difficult task, and no knowledge of the game is required as
it is controlled by the referees. You really only need to organise the
rotation of substitutes on and off the field.
- Transport - All parents will be
responsible for organising transport to and from the games at Hutt Park
each week.
Please contact me at school if you have any
questions
Thank you for your support.
