Courses

There will be three differing cross-country courses (maps below). The Year 4’s course is roughly 1.1km, the Year 5 & 6 course is roughly 2km and the Year 7 & 8 course is around 3km.

On the ‘Walk the Course’ at 9.45am, the year groups will walk from the start to point where the Year 4 course breaks off. The Year 4’s will be escorted back to the school base area to get ready for their races while the Y5 to Y8’s will continue to be guided around the Ava Park part of their course.

Teams

A maximum team of ten children from each school will compete at the appropriate year level/gendered race. Only students that are capable of running each course without walking will be registered.

Placing/Qualifying

The first ten runners from each race, to across the finish line will qualify for the Inter-Zone event. The students that place first, second and third will receive certificates at the prize giving at the end of the day.

Further Information:

Children should be wearing appropriate footwear, but no spiked running shoes (some of the course include gravel or concrete).

Parents need to stay in the appropriate area. It is difficult to supervise children if the adults are wandering over various parts of the course.
